Spin the clock back three years, and it was probably enough to have marketing run as an individual function, working with its own data set and its own tools. You might have your marketing data over here, your CRM data over there, while your billing data lives somewhere else entirely.
Google Cloud Platform lets you join things together in ways that weren’t possible before. Why would we tolerate disparate systems that don’t even talk to each other? Why wouldn’t we want to link CRM and web analytics data so we get a 360-degree view of the customer? Why wouldn’t we want to exclude current customers from our ad audiences and eliminate wastage?
