Our UX Analysis is a piece of applied science that looks into how your users are currently interacting with your website.
It's often used to inform a redevelopment, or to review and gauge the effectiveness of recent development to all or part of your website. It sits between web analytics and usability analysis, and helps make sure that you're spending money on the right sort of development.
We start with a meeting to gather requirements and scope the analysis. What sort of behaviour are we investigating? What is the business expecting us to discover? What are users hoping to achieve on the site?
We then use Google Analytics to provide quantitative data -- how many people tried, how many people failed -- and for qualitative data, we use tools like Hotjar, Inspectlet, Clicktale and CrazyEgg to tell the whole story.
A comparison of industry and market trends helps understand the approach and user experience on other websites that your users might be visiting. We analyse all this, and wrap things up in a bundle of recommendations for best practice in navigation, layout, schema, mobile adoption, calls to action and functionality.
Our findings are presented in the form of thorough documentation, together with an on-site presentation to summarise our findings to your internal stakeholders, and we're always on hand to help with further review once changes have been implemented.
The First Step
UX Analysis is complex, but a lot of fun -- and as a consultancy that's all about human behaviour, it's something we adore doing.
