Back in 2017, Google and Salesforce announced an integration between Google Analytics 360, and Salesforce's CRM and marketing suites.
The integrations are being released in stages, with the following currently available:
- Salesforce Sales Cloud (CRM)
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud (marketing automation)
The two products link beautifully with Google Analytics 360, providing two-way data connectivity.
The Salesforce Sales Cloud integration provides source/medium and campaign data in Salesforce, and pings changes in state for leads and opportunities in the GA interface. You can use state changes like "Closed, Not Interested" to create exclusion lists in your remarketing and display campaigns.
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud integration allows you to link data from marketing automation campaigns into GA360, to create audiences for remarketing and targeting in AdWords and DoubleClick. There's a charge from Salesforce to enable this integration; chat to your Account Executive at Salesforce.
To sound geeky for a moment, the integration is absolutely beautiful. There's a bit of setup required, but once it's complete the time between "hmm what's this" to "how did I live without this" is remarkably short.
The Salesforce Sales Cloud and the Salesforce Marketing Cloud integrations are only available to current Google Analytics 360 customers.
